I don't remember loving her like she loved me
I guess I never tried too hard
I thought she'd forget me like I forgot her

So I went back to the letter
To see just what I'd missed
And it smelt of her old perfume
And she'd signed it with a kiss
I thought there might be a hidden message
Something I just couldn't see
But all that I could read there
Was that she was finally free
